All tools that every developer needs

Privacy notice

How Programmer Workshop handles personal data, written to satisfy the EU/UK GDPR and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

Who is responsible

Programmer Workshop operates this site and decides how personal data is handled (the controller under the GDPR, the data controller under the PDPL). Jurisdiction: Saudi Arabia. Reach us through the contact page.

Privacy by design: the tools run on your device

Every utility on this site transforms your input inside your browser. Text you paste into a formatter, converter, generator or regex tester is not transmitted to us. The two deliberate exceptions are clearly marked in the interface: the AI Workshop (which sends only what you approve in its review step) and the HTTP request tools (which call the address you type).

What we collect and why

Account data — email address and optional display name, when you choose to create an account. Legal basis: performance of the service you requested (PDPL: necessary for the service).

Your saved content — snippets, favourites and recently used tools, only if you enable cloud sync.

Usage analytics — anonymous counts of which tools are opened, tied to a salted, truncated hash rather than an IP address. Legal basis: consent for optional analytics cookies; legitimate interest for aggregate, non-identifying counts.

API usage — for developer API keys: endpoint, status code and timestamp, used for fair-use limits and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping a free service available.

Messages you send — feedback reports and contact messages, including the name and email you provide, plus an anti-spam hash of your connection. Legal basis: consent and legitimate interest in preventing abuse.

Security and audit records — sign-ins, administrative changes and blocked abuse attempts, with hashed IP addresses only.

Cookies and local storage

Strictly necessary storage (theme, consent choice, sign-in session) is always used. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you allow them, and Google Consent Mode starts in the denied state. See the full cookie list.

Who else processes data

Hosting and database/authentication infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under contract. Google Analytics and Google AdSense are used only with your consent. AI Workshop prompts you explicitly approve are processed by a third-party model provider. These providers may process data outside your country; transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

How long data is kept

Usage events: 180 days. Security and audit records: 365 days. Feedback and contact messages: 365 days. Account data is kept until you delete your account, then removed or anonymized.

Your rights

Under both the GDPR and the PDPL you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest or withdraw consent at any time. Signed-in users can export everything or delete their account from the account page. Anyone else can submit a request through the contact form using the “Privacy request” category — we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your supervisory authority (in Saudi Arabia, SDAIA).

Children

The site is aimed at developers and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

When this notice changes materially we bump its version, which re-asks for your cookie choices. Current version: 1.
